Switching to a new satellite frequency
Please click on your receiver model in the tables below to understand the steps
necessary to change your OmniSTAR compatible receiver to the OmniSTAR new frequency,
some proficiency with a PC and Windows(R) software may be required, if in doubt
please contact your local supplier or OmniSTAR on 1300 79 44 98
Important: in some rare cases it might be necessary to change the
antenna to be able to receive the new OmniSTAR frequency for Australia and New Zealand.
Please take the time to check your antenna against the OmniSTAR Compatible Antenna
Chart available ( here ). If you believe you need a new antenna please contact your
local supplier or OmniSTAR on 1300 79 44 98

CSI - LGBX-series
To change the OmniSTAR satellite frequency using the Menu see below, a manual for
the receiver can be found ( here )
- From within the main menu, go to the setup menu
- Navigate until Chan is in focus, then press [enter]
- For each cursor position use the cursors to change it to the appropriate value,
[enter] to accept the value
- After the last [enter] you will automatically be taken to the L-Band
menu. Press [enter] when focus is on Afrq to be taken back to the
setup menu
- Navigate until Sym Rate is in focus, press [enter] to enable changes
to the symbol rate. Use the cursors to change the symbol rate to the chosen symbol
rate (e.g. 2438. Press [enter] to confirm
- Allow 45 minutes to get the system to work
CSI - LGBX-II

CSI - DGPS Max
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware currently Omni_4.8. You should contact your supplier
with regard to the upgrade procedure and OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver
after a firmware upgrade
A procedure for changing the OmniSTAR frequency using the Menu system can be found

Or the SLXmon program ( download here ) and the command cable can be used.
Connect the command cable with the label command to the COM1 of the computer
- Select File menu item, followed by Connect, set the correct PC COM port, the default
baud setting is 19200
- Select Control menu, followed by View Command page.
- In the Message to SLX window type $JFREQ,1535185,1200
and press Send (the message format is $JFREQ<frequency in KHz.><link
baud rate>).)
- Then in the Message to SLX windoetype $JSAVE and press SEND.
OmniSTAR GEM, OmniSTAR 2100LR12, Sokkia AXIS
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware currently Omni_4.8. You should contact your supplier
with regard to the upgrade procedure and OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver
after a firmware upgrade
Use the SLXmon program ( download here ) and the command cable. Connect the
command cable with the label command to the COM1 of the computer
- Select File, Connect the default setting is 19200
- Select Control, View Command page.
- Message to SLX has the format JFREQ,<frequency>,<baudrate> (e.g.
$JFREQ,1535185,1200 )
- Message to SLX: $JSAVE
OmniSTAR 3000LM
Use the command cable (Telephone RJ45 socket in the middle) and the user toolkit
program ( download here
). A more detailed procedure can be downloaded (here).
- Start 3lusertk.exe
- Select Operation, Channel Selection, satellite of your choice (e.g. OCSAT)
- If the chosen satellite is not available in the list, type the chosen frequency
in Hz (e.g. 1535 185 000) and select OK.
OmniSTAR 3000LR, 3000LR8, 3000LR12
- From the Start Screen:- Use the 5 buttons and display on the front panel.
- Press the UP button repeatedly, until the "CHANNEL SELECTION" screen appears.
- Press the RIGHT button and observe the display shows Satellite Name or "FREQUENCY".
- Press UP button repeatedly till the display shows " CUSTOM SEE FR / SR"
- Press the RIGHT button and observe the present frequency on the display.
- Press DOWN once to select the cursor. Use the UP and DOWN to set the digits and
LEFT and RIGHT to move the cursor.
- Set the chosen frequency (e.g. 1535185000) and enter it with the ENTER button.
- Set the Symbol rate to the chosen symbol rate (e.g. 2438) and enter it with the
ENTER button.
- Your Receiver is now tuned to the new satellite. Allow 45 minutes to get the system
to work
OmniSTAR 3100LM
Use the OmniSTAR usertoolkit program (
download here )
- Use a RS232 inline cable and connect the RS232 connector labelled 'Command' to the
computer
- Start 3lusertk.exe
- Select Operation, Channel Selection, satellite of your choice (e.g. OCSAT)
- If the chosen satellite is not available in the list, type the chosen frequency
in Hz (e.g. 1535185000) and select OK.
OmniSTAR Otto / 3100LR8 / 3100LR12 /3500LR/ 3510LR
Use the OmniSTAR usertoolkit program (
download here ). A more detailed procedure for the 3100 can be downloaded

& 3500LR12 (here

- Use a RS232 cable and connect the 'Command' port of the receiver to the computer
- Start 3lusertk.exe
- Select Operation, Channel Selection, Channel Selection by Name, satellite of your
choice e.g. OCSAT
- If the chosen satellite is not available in the list, type the chosen frequency
in Hz (e.g. 1535185000) and select OK.
OmniLITE 132, OmniSTAR 3200LR12, RINEX Titan
We recommend that if possible you take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware please visit the Trimble support page for more

here and to download the latest firmware and the Flashloader100 utility
to upgrade your AG132 based product. You will need to contact OmniSTAR to re-subscribe
your receiver after a firmware upgrade
Use the AgRemote program (
download here ) to change the OmniSTAR satellite frequency). A more
detailed version of this procedure can be found ( here )
- Connect the computer to Port B and run AgRemote
- Use ">" to go to Configuration, press "V"
- Use ">"to go to DGPS Config, press "V"
- Until "Satellite Freq" menu item.
- Press the ">" key
- Use the "Ù" and the "Ú" keys
to change the digits.
- Use the ">" key the move the cursor.
- Set the chosen frequency
- Press "V" to go to symbol rate
- Set the corresponding symbol rate
- Press the "¿" key.
- Exit the menu
- Check the Port A and B settingss for the messages your system requires
- Allow 45 minutes to get the system to work
OmniSTAR 7000LR8 / 7000LR12
Use the OmniSTAR usertoolkit program (
download here ), A more detailed procedure can be downloaded (here).
- Use the 7000 Command cable with the RS-232 label Command.
- Connect this cable to a computer.
- Start 3lusertk.exe Select Operation, Channel Selection,Channel Selection by Name,
name of satellite of your choice
- If the chosen satellite is not available in the list, type the chosen frequency
in Hz (e.g. 1535 185 000) and select OK.
OmniSTAR 8300HP /NovAtel ProPak-LB / Sokkia 2650 LB
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware please visit the NovAtel support page for more

product. You should contact your supplier with regard to the upgrade procedure and
OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver after a firmware upgrade
To set the satellite frequency of the 8300HP to the new frequency the following
program can be downloaded (
here ) the procedure for using this program is as below:

Close all programs on the computer

Connect the data cable from the black XYZ port of the Novatel to the computer

Run the frequency changer program
-
Click Connect
-
The program will indicate a successful change of frequency
-
When this has completed successfully, call OmniSTAR for a resubscription

Outback receiver
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware currently Omni_4.8. You should contact your supplier
with regard to the upgrade procedure and OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver
after a firmware upgrade
Use the SLXmon program (

Raven/Starlink Invicta 310
A procedure for changing the OmniSTAR frequency using the Menu system can be found

The Raven/Starlink receiver satellite frequency can also be set by the following
command.

$PSLIS,LBR,TNS,1535.185,2438
The command can be send with any terminal program connected to the serial port of
the receiver.
KEE TripleX,
Satloc SLXg, SLX3g
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware currently Omni_4.8. You should contact your supplier
with regard to the upgrade procedure and OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver
after a firmware upgrade
It will be necessary to use the SLXmon program which can be (
download here ), a more detailed procedure can be ( download here ).
Using the supplied double header serial cable connect the connector labelled PORT
B to the PC COM Port. Install and run the SLXMon program:
- Select File menu item, followed by Connect, set the correct PC COM port, the default
baud setting is 19200
- Select Control menu, followed by View Command page.
- In the Message to SLX window type $JFREQ,1535185,1200
and press Send (the message format is $JFREQ<frequency in KHz.><link
baud rate>).)
- Then in the Message to SLX windoetype $JSAVE and press SEND.
Topcon Map-R
To change the frequency & baudrate of the Map-R receiver please use the PC_RCC program
from Topcon.
Trimble Ag132, Case AFS
We recommend that if possible you also take the opportunity to upgrade your receiver
to the latest version of firmware please visit the Trimble support page for more

to upgrade your AG132. You will need to contact OmniSTAR to re-subscribe your receiver
after a firmware upgrade

Trimble AG114, EZ110

Use the AgRemote program (
download here ) to change the OmniSTAR satellite frequency. A more

- Use AgRemote, after connecting to the receiver the rest of the procedure is
the same as the Ag132 above.
- After changing the frequency, restore the settings of Port A to Port output NMEA
baudrate 9600,8,N,1.
- The program will reply an error message: "Lost communications with the receiver
check cables"
Trimble Ag252, Ag332, AgLeader 5100

For the Trimble AgGPS 252 and AgLeader 5100 you will require a RS232 cable and the
AgRemote available for download from the Trimble support site
here. Connect to the Ag252 receiver
For the Ag332 use the front panel display & buttons
Follow the instructions below to change the frequency to the chosen frequency.
- Use ">" to go to configuration, press "V"
- Use ">"to go to DGPS Config, press "V"
- Until at "Satellite Freq" menu item.
- Press the ">" key
- Use the "Ù" and the "Ú" keys
to change the digits.
- Use the ">" key the move the cursor.
- Set the chosen frequency
- Press "V" to go to symbol rate
- Set the corresponding symbol rate
- Press the "¿" key.
- Exit the menu
- Allow 45 minutes to get the system to work
Trimble Pro-XRS (with TDC1 datalogger)
If you have Trimble firmware version 1.51 or less you first need to upgrade the
receiver to the latest firmware. (see Trimble site)
If you have a ProXRS with model number 33302-X0, click here to download the latest firmware and Flashloader100
to upgrade your ProXRS.

If you do not have to upgrade your ProXRS follow the instructions below to set the
new frequency.
- From the main menu press [Shift+Config] to enter the Configuration
menu
- Press [Enter] to enter the GPS menu
- Press [Enter] to enter the Rover options menu
- Press [F1] for the RTCM menu
- Press [F1] for the DGPS menu
- Use the cursors to highlight the Frequency option
- Press à so the cursor blinks indicating the frequency
value may be changed. Use ß and
à to move in between characters. Use the numerical keyboard and [Func+Del]
to change and delete characters.
- Press ¯ to move to the data rate, use à to change Data rate to 1200
- Press OK to confirm changes
- Allow 45 minutes to get the system to work
AgLeader 3100
